Dr. Erick Rivera Grana is an ophthalmologist with subspecialties in glaucoma and uveitis. He is the only ophthalmologist in Puerto Rico with dual fellowship training in glaucoma and uveitis. He completed fellowships in ocular immunology/uveitis at the University of Miami- Bascom Palmer Eye Institute which has been the number #1 hospital in the united states for more than 20 years in a row, and in glaucoma at Oregon Health & Science University, where he also served as an Assistant Professor.
During his fellowship training, Dr. Rivera-Grana won the prestigious award 'Best Fellow of the Year' 2 consecutive years at both institutions where he trained, demonstrating Dr. Rivera-Grana's pursuit of excellence and dedication to teaching. His education includes a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Puerto Rico and an internship at Hospital Episcopal San Lucas.
Dr. Rivera Grana has published research in several renowned medical journals such as JAMA Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmology Case reports on various topics, including glaucoma and uveitis. He has been invited to talk in numerous conferences. His experience extends to treating uveitis, inflammatory glaucoma, glaucoma and cataracts. Dr. Rivera-Grana is committed to bringing world class and up-to-date specialty care to his hometown of Ponce, Puerto Rico.
